The Ezîdî community is a Kurdish-speaking ethno-religious group that originated in Mesopotamia. They are known to follow an ancient religion : the Êzdiyatî or Ezidism, and to have suffered more than 70 genocides and massacres in the course of their history.
10 years after the Ezîdî genocide: what happened in 2014?
In August 2024, we commemorated the Şengal massacre. The invasion and atrocities of that day marked the beginning of a brutal genocidal campaign by ISIS, with the complicity of the KDP and the Turkish state, against the indigenous Ezîdî population in South Kurdistan, Northern Iraq.
